Willie Irving Obituary

Willie Joe Irving was born on March 26, 1947, in Galveston County, Texas, to Cleo and Syble Irving.  He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the tender age of 12 years old.  Willie Joe was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he joined under the leadership of Pastor Darrell Dever. He served as a Trustee, and member of the Adult Choir at F.M.B.C.

Willie worked for Victor Equipment Company, Denton, Texas, for 11 years.  Moving back to Huntsville due to his mother-in-law’s poor health, he started a business, Irving & Irving Janitorial Service, expanding later to a Janitorial Supply Center, Maid Service and Carpet Cleaning.  Willie had 20 janitorial contracts including such businesses as Walker County Courthouse and Annexes, Champion, Huntsville Bowling Lane and more. He was the Maintenance Director for Happy Days Daycare Kingdom and the Roxie Douglas Scholarship Foundation and Learning Institute. He held the position for the Foundation and Learning Institute from 1997 to 2019, when his health started failing.  Willie Joe attended Cooke County Jr, College where he majored in Architecture.

Willie Joe Irving received his reward of Eternal Rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Cleo and Syble Irving, brother, Billy Ray Irving, daughter, Venetia Nicole Irving and nieces Annette Ross and JoAnn O’Neal.  He was blessed to have a wife, Carmen Irving, of 51 years who loved him dearly; two daughters, LaTanya Joavette Irving and Nakia Jamal Booker; son, Tarlton Booker II; granddaughters, Sierra Roxieanna Davis, Phenice Booker and grandson, Tarlton Booker III; Sisters, Doris Hill and Diana Sims; Devoted Nieces, Michelle Irving, Delonna Garrett (Brian), Melissa Irving, Melinda Irving, Micaela Akis-Battles, Jacqueline Hill, Ashton Douglas, Kersten Douglas and Kristen Douglas; Nephews, Michael Irving, Brandon Cooper, Marcus Douglas and Jared Douglas.  He also had a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
