Stirling Johnson Obituary

Stirling Keith Johnson was born on September 23, 1968, in Houston Texas, to the late Gloria Jean Johnson and James Mukes. From childhood, Stirling carried a bright, energetic spirit and a deep love for the people around him. He attended school in Houston Texas, where he graduated from James Madison Senior High School in 1987. He was the first of his mother’s five sons to attend college, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He became an active and valued member of the university’s alumni community, beginning a lifelong commitment to dedication and service.

Throughout his life, Stirling embraced work that reflected both his strong sense of responsibility and his compassion for others. He served for many years as a Probation Officer with the Harris County Probation Department. Later, he earned his cosmetology license and built a second career as a barber and cosmetologist. Discovering the joy of entrepreneurship, he went on to establish his own ride-share and delivery services, where his reliability, warmth, and kindness made him beloved by coworkers, clients, and passengers alike.

Stirling accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant throughout his life. He first joined Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverand L.V. Adams and later in life joined the Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Charles Allen. His spiritual journey led him to become a gifted speaker and was often regarded as an evangelist and preacher of the gospel.

Stirling married Danielle Holmes in June 2003. Their time together brought his greatest joy—their daughter, Brielle. Fatherhood was among his proudest callings. He devoted himself to ensuring that Brielle lacked nothing and knew unwavering love, guidance, and support.

Stirling is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Johnson; his father, James Mukes; and his brother, Troy Hooey.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Brielle; his brothers Christopher, Zachary, and Jacob; and a wide circle of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. His life reflected resilience, faith, and love. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
