Ruby Pearl (Spencer) Regulus

Ruby Pearl Regulus was born in Conroe, Texas on July 15, 1939, and moved to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 3 where she attended school and completed her education.

Ruby later married and became the mother of 2 beautiful daughters, Robinette and Roslyn Regulus.

Ruby worked at Sears and Roebucks for many years in Chicago, where she later retired. In 1982 She moved to Trinity, Texas to begin another journey in her life. She became a member of Bowen Pilgrim Baptist Church where she became the choir director for years. During her journey while staying in Trinity she met a special friend by the name of Vera Fransaw Rector. Vera’s friendship factored in a great part of Ruby’s life, from the beginning of their friendship to the last day of Ruby’s life. Vera was more than a friend, she was family. As the years progressed, she met more special friends like Lauree Bowden (Miss Shane), Doris Carter and many others.

When Ruby’s first great-grandchild, Tre’von Mills began attending Head Start, she would take him to school and instead of just dropping him off, she would stay. She was there so often the school offered her employment. She worked at the school during those years, and a few more of her great-grandchildren attended the school also. They included A’breonna Regulus, Tatianna Ferguson, and Da’Niyah Crawford. She became the school's (Grandma/GranGran) because the other children would hear her grandchildren and great-grandchildren calling her those names. 
She then retired again and began her leisure years where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and traveling. She also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, Keno, and Rumi Royal, if you knew Ms. Ruby, then you knew all of these games were a staple in her household.

On April 19, 2024, in Houston, Texas Ruby Pearl Regulus was peacefully called home. God decided the Matriarch of our family had fulfilled her destiny here on Earth. He knew the life lessons, knowledge, wisdom, love and time she shared with every one of us would be enough to be forever embedded in our hearts.
