Rosie Harrison Obituary

On October 12, 1958 a beautiful rose by the name of Rosie “Diann” Woodberry was given to Elza Davis and Rosie Bell Spencer. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she attended H.I.S. D. From kindergarten to sixth grade Diann received her education at James D. Burrus Elementary School and continued her general education attending Booker T. Washington High School.

Rosie Diann accepted Christ into her life at the age of 15 years old under the leadership of Bishop William Nelson Godfrey. She served faithfully in the Junior and Senior Choir along with being a part of the Purity Band as well. She remained at North Main Church of God in Christ throughout her childhood and teenage years until her father and mother, Emeritus Henry A. and Missionary Rosie B. Spencer ventured out into their own Mission Ministry at 38th Street C.O.G.I.C. After becoming an adult she met the father of her children, Willie G. Harrison and moved to Huntsville, Texas. In 1990 the couple joined in marriage. To this union four children were raised. They were married for 30 years until God called Diann home.

In 1992 Willie and Diann dedicated their life to the Lord under the leadership of Bishop John Cephus. She labored diligently there for many years. In 2019 Diann gave her right hand of fellowship; uniting with Gospel Hill C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Dr. Terry A. Diamond Sr. until demise. Rosie Diann worked as a faithful employee Brookshire Bros. for two years. Following her time there she dedicated her life to being a loyal and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Diann is proceeded in death by her parents: Elza Davis, Rosie Bell Spencer, and Emeritus Henry Ashberry Spence Sr.; siblings: Sammie Franklin Woodberry, Donna Faye Woodberry, Elza Woodberry (JR) and Bernice Piggie; aunt: Rhodie Maye Hayes; uncles: Emeritus James Williams, Leonard Williams, A.C.
