Roosevelt Barnes Jr. Obituary

Roosevelt Barnes Jr. (a.k.a.) Randy was born in Houston, Texas on August 12, 1960 to Roosevelt Barnes Sr. and Wilma Louise White.

Roosevelt attended Forest Brook High School and later transferred to Jones High School where he graduated. He began a trade in auto mechanics, but didn’t stick with it. However, he continued working various jobs including logging. He learned this trade from his stepfather: A.V. White.

Randy lived and enjoyed life. There was not much that bothered him.

Randy could be seen on a basketball court. The men loved playing basketball and not many people could hang with him on the court. He loved playing video games and trying to sing (lol). He could make you laugh and mad at the same time.

Randy loved his family and they always had a good time together. He enjoyed going to the movies or going to visit his family in Houston. He would always make it fun.

Randy married a special lady in his life and even though their marriage did not continue their friendship did. They remained very good friends until his passing.

Randy became saved at a young age. He had the love of God in him all the way until his final day on this earth.

Randy will be truly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son: Farryn Sykes; sister: Alicia White; brother: Alex White; special friend: Carolyn McGowen; step-son: Cedric McGowen; step-daughter: Quinteria McGowen; step-father: A.V. White; nieces, nephews; special cousin who was raised with him like a sister: Sameal Jones and her children (who he helped to raise), Omeshia Young, Matia Young, Omar Gooden, Abrie Gooden and Arbrie Goodman. He was preceded in death by his, father: Roosevelt Barnes Sr. mother: Wilma White and older brother: Bergeon Dean.

We know that our mother and brothers are all singing up there.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
