Robert A. Tubbs James, known to most as “Boojack” was called home to the Lord on April 17th, 2023, at the age of 50 years old. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his sudden death. Robert was born on September 20, 1972 to Carolyn James-Jones and Robert Lee Tubbs.
Robert was born at Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville, Texas. He grew up in Huntsville, Texas and attended Huntsville high school. In his childhood, Robert accepted Christ at an early age. He played baseball, basketball, and enjoyed karate during his childhood.
Robert was predeceased by his grandparents, Jerry, Sr. and Beulah James, and Rosie Lee Franklin; uncles: Arthur James, Lester James, and Jerry B. James Jr; special cousins: Kedrick Gamble and Jerry Bernard James Sr.
Robert is survived by his mother: Carolyn James Jones, father: Robert Lee Tubbs; children: Chantel Walker and Amarianna James; granddaughter: Inayah Johnson, and stepdaughters: Brandi Walker Austin and Danielle Walker. Forever loved and remembered by his siblings: Jamonia Jones, Rickey Jones Jr, and stepbrother: Kevin Jones; uncle: Sherman James (Cassandra); special nephew: Tieshawn Matthews Jr. (Tie); god son: Trevion Byrd; niece: Aelita’ Jones; nephews: Jaidynn Jones and Leland Jones. He is also remembered by his special friend: Jessica Delgado and wife: Tamekia Walker, also a host of cousins and friends.
Robert was a beautiful person inside and out. His smile was so stunning and bright it would light up the whole room. He cared so deeply for the people around him and made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
