Lois Jean Brown was born July 13, 1957, to Clarence and Gladys Wiley Brown, in Huntsville, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Huntsville, and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1975.
Lois was a hard worker. For over 25 years she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Lois was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she joined in 1997. At the time of her passing she was serving under the leadership of Pastor Max Toliver.
Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She always made sure her family was taken care of. With the love she had for them, she would always say that family should always stick together no matter what. Along with her devotion to her family, she enjoyed shopping (especially for her grandchildren and for her home) She was very creative and a clean freak. Our mom made sure she attended all of her grandchildren’s basketball, football games, and birthday parties. Her grandchildren were the light to her heart. When they were sad or mad she made sure to talk to them to see what was wrong and assist them in solving whatever the problem.
Lois loved her children. She was tough with them, but made sure they were good and she always had their back. If they were wrong, she would tell them, and she would give her comments, and advice.
In February 2010, Lois moved to Houston, Texas, to be with her children. While in Houston, she worked for Lighthouse Hospice, Kindred, and Amada Senior Care, where she worked until she couldn’t anymore.
Lois was preceded in death by family members, Lynard “Lynn” Shorter, James Brown, and Marcus McGuire.
