Obituary

LaSalle McMorris, Jr., of Houston, Texas was born on November 30, 1967, to Dorothy Harris McMorris and LaSalle McMorris, Sr. in Greenwood, MS. He was the firstborn to this union. LaSalle was baptized at an early age at Locus Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS.

 LaSalle was an avid reader and firmly believed in education. He started his educational journey at Rising Sun Elementary until 3rd grade before transitioning to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School until 8th grade and graduated high school with honors from Amanda Elzy High School in Greenwood, MS in 1984. He went on to attend Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with honors in 1990. While attending MVSU, LaSalle participated in the Army ROTC. After graduation, LaSalle attended Army officer training. In 1994, he received an MBA in Business Finance from the University of Houston.

 In 1988, LaSalle met the love of his life, Patricia Jordan, while both were attending a co-op opportunity with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Memphis, TN. They went on to wed July 13, 1991, in Jackson, Mississippi. LaSalle went on to work for the FAA as an air traffic controller for 10 years at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. LaSalle also obtained his real estate and broker license after moving to Houston, Texas.

  LaSalle and Patricia had three children: Montreal McMorris, LaSalle McMorris, III, and MaaLiiK McMorris.

 LaSalle was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy McMorris; his son, Montreal McMorris; and his niece, Keandra McMorris, father-in-law, Willie Jordan and mother-in-law, Helen Jordan.

 LaSalle leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Patricia McMorris; sons, LaSalle III and MaaLiiK McMorris; father: LaSalle McMorris, Sr.,  of Greenwood, MS.,  daughter-in-law, Dionnea McMorris (Montreal) of Burke, Virginia; grandchildren, Xavier Manning, Caleb McMorris, and Juanita McMorris; brother, Timothy McMorris (Yolanda) of Jackson, MS.; sisters, Kornella Simmons (Terry) of Olive Branch, MS., LaSandra Brown (Devin) of Manvel, Texas, and Meagan Gosa, of Nashville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Bernard Jordan of Houston, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Mary Moffett (Ray) of Topeka, Kansas, Cynthia Hill (David) of Cantonment, Florida, Renee King, of Galveston, Texas and Yolanda Jimenez (Paul) of Carlsbad, New Mexico; a nephew that held a special spot in his heart, Kylan Clay,  a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
