L.A. Oliphant began his earthly journey on May 30, 1949, in Huntsville, Texas to Charlie and Norvella Richardson Oliphant.
L.A. received his formal education in Huntsville, Texas where he attended Sam Houston High School. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1967.
L.A. was joined in holy matrimony with the love of his life the former Linda Antwine. They were married for 47 years. To this union two children were born, VaShunna Lynette and Jason.
L.A.’s employment consisted of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Louisiana Pacific where he retired.
L.A. was a member of Life Fellowship, in Conroe, Texas under the leadership of Rev. Roland C. Oliphant.
L.A. was preceded in death by his wife: Linda Oliphant; his parents; brother: Thomas Eugene Oliphant and sister: Rosa V. Crawford.
L.A. was loved by everyone that knew him always radiating a warm smile and a spirit of calmness. He is survived by his loving family that include his children: VaShunna Jefferson (Wilbert) and Jason Oliphant (Soraida); siblings: Sue Dean Pinkard, Tobe Oliphant I (Jane), Joe Nell Ross (Curtis), Naomi Jenkins Washington and Jerry Lynn Oliphant; grandchildren: Niara C. Jefferson, Bryce C. Jefferson, Chloe Oliphant, KeLyne Oliphant, Jason Oliphant, Jr. and Nuri Oliphant; devoted brother-in-law: Carl Antwine and mother-in-law: Iris Ross, and a host of additional relatives and friends.
