On February 26, 1944, a baby girl was born to Ollie Mack Shaw and Ernestine Smith; in Huntsville, Texas. They named this precious bundle of joy Joyce. She was the oldest of five siblings.


Joyce attended Sam Houston High School. Through the years she worked lovingly as a caregiver to many until her retirement.


August 24, 2023, in the late evening, Joyce was called to her heavenly home.


Proceeding her in death are her parents, husband: Frenchie Crawford, Jr.; grandsons: Terrin Lee and Garry King, and brother: Michael Smith.


Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, daughters: Anna Alston (James), Sherry Murphy (Kevin), Katie Davison, and Cindy Crawford; sisters: Genevieve Strahan Arieta (Rene), Barbara Walker (Johnnie), and Debora Byrd; granddaughters: Brianna Reeves and Keicin Lee; grandson: Jordan Shaw (Elizabeth); special friends: John Spivey and Lenora Shaw, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
