Brother Joshua W. Albert was the oldest son born to the late Bennie and Arneder Albert. Joshua “J.W.” was born on July 17, 1932 in Trinity, Texas.
J. W. attended Trinity High School before entering the United States Army in 1953. He served in the Korean War until 1956. He then returned to Texas where he attended Texas Southern University. He moved to Galveston, Texas where he was employed by UTMB. He met and eventually married the former Marie Pace. To this union three children were born. He later moved to Huntsville, Texas and began employment at ERS Region VI in 1974 and remained there until his retirement. He met and married Charlotte “Pye” Johnson. To this union four children were born. They remained married until her passing in 2015.
J.W. was an avid reader and a true Dallas Cowboy fan, loved fishing just like his mother did. He especially loved being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as the rest of his family. He was known to always have a smile on his face and have a funny story to share.
Joshua became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Northside Church of Christ where he served faithfully until prevented attendance.
Joshua is preceded in death by his wife: Charlotte “Pye”, parents; brother: Billie Burton and his grandparents.
Joshua leaves to cherish his memories, children: Rhonda Barken (Roger), Dohn Albert, Dwyanne Albert (Regina), Odie Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Cynthia Johnson and Darrell Albert; grandchildren:Kristi, Brent, Dohn Jr., Quentin, Destinee’, Myeshia, Nastacia, Craneisha, Darrius, Cyrus, Dimitri, MarKayla, Ebony, Kendall and Kendra; great-grandchildren: Kiara, Oma IV, Tyler, Corey, Dohn III, Dacoby, Tristan, Audrey, Joseph, Jade, Travion, Tradyn, Tralyn, Semaj, Noel, Kadrien and St. Julian; brother: James Abbott (Essie); special cousins: (The Lanes) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
