John T. Rolling Sr.

John Rolling was born March 19, 1941 in Huntsville, TX. to Obie and Azzie Lee Rolling.

John united with St. Luke IME Church under the leadership of Rev. I.S. Aycox. He later became a member of Unity of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. 

On January 9, 1960, John married the former Helen Jones. At the time of his passing they had been married for 60 years. 

John was preceded in death by his parents: Obie Rolling Sr. and Azzie Lee Rolling; brothers: Rev. Obie Rolling Jr. and  Elfert Rolling Sr.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Rolling; children: Felicia Moffett (Johnny), Sophia Davis (Reginald), John D. Rolling (Lisa); sisters: Laura Grant, Johnnie Mae Simmons, Maggie Wanza (John) and Jewel Rolling; brothers: Sanford McGowen (Hattie), and Nelson Johnson Sr., (6) grandchildren, (4) great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
