Jimmy Grant was born on September 30, 1948, to the late Louis Sr. and Etherlyn Grant, in Huntsville, Texas.
Jimmy graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1965. Later he moved to Houston, Texas and worked at Kraft Foods (Maxwell House Coffee) for 35 years. After retirement, he worked for Hewlett Packard for an additional 10 years.
Before his health failed, he was an active member of the Champions Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Chase Austin. Jimmy will be remembered as a kind man, that loved football (specifically the Dallas Cowboys) and Coca Cola.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Louis Grant Jr., Rev. Willie Grant, Rebecca Grant and Leethel Grant.
Loved ones left to treasure his memory: his wife of 48 years, Adrian; his children: Reginald Grant (Sanjia), Samona Grant, James Derrick “Pa Duke” (Carita) and Dorinda Grant “First Lady”; his grandchildren: Jasmine McKelvey (Eddie III), Demonte (Kim), Brandon, Alyssa, Jared, Kennan, Kevere, Donovan and Kayla; his great-grandchildren: Chase, Eddie IV and Sydney.
