James E. Hill

James Edward Hill went home to be with the LORD on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at age 72.

James was born to Ed and Robbie Lee Hill on March 8, 1950, in Pointblank, Texas.  As a child he loved the game of football.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Coldspring, Texas. Following graduation, he began working at Champion Paper in Houston, Texas. In later years he began a career in trucking, hauling logs for Oliver Bros., in Huntsville, Texas. His good work ethics continued through the years working for Louisiana Pacific, hauling chips and eventually becoming self-employed with JJ Landscaping. He also ventured into driving hotshot and finally returned to his love of hauling logs.

James and his loving wife, the former Sandra Roberts, were married for 48 years at the time of her passing. To their union were born Yolanda and Daniel. 

As a young boy, James was introduced to Christ by his mother and elders.  James has had a relationship with the LORD and He has carried him all the years of his life.  James had a strong faith in the Lord that he shared with others. He joined St. Marion Baptist Church as a young boy and later began fellowshipping with Liberty Primitive Baptist Church in Pointblank, Texas. 

In addition, to being a dedicated husband and loving father and the best PawPaw, James took pride in gardening, hunting, and barbecuing (which he was famous for), along with his newfound passion selling watermelons.  He didn’t meet a stranger and many in Pointblank were connected to him in some way.  James was known for his long-lasting conversations. 

 James joins his wife: Sandra, son: Daniel, parents: Ed and Robbie Lee, siblings: Terry “TB”, Roy James, Billy Ray, Donald Ray and Lena Mae in eternity.  James is survived by his daughter: Yolanda (Troy); of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren: Quan, Aniya and Yara; Daniel’s daughter: Keyonia Hill; and siblings; Randy (Eartha) Hill, Gardena, California, Ethel (Phil) Jergensen, Mission Viejo, California, Eddie (Beverly) Lynwood, California, Deanna Hill, Los Angeles, California and Freddie Hill Glover, Houston, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and all his friends near and far.
