Gloria Carrington was born on October 9, 1952 to the late J.C. and Pearline Carrington in Huntsville, TX. Gloria attended Huntsville High School where she graduated with the class of 1971.
Gloria joined the United States Army in 1972. Years later, she was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and later went on to retire from the Joe Corley Detention Facility after 12 years.
Accepting Christ at an early age, Gloria became a member of Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Huntsville, TX. where she was baptized.
Gloria was united in holy matrimony to the late Jack D. Wiley. To this union, three children were born. Jacquelyn Wiley, Jerry Wayne Wiley and Gregory Dewayne Wiley.
She was preceded in death by her sons: Gregory Dewayne Wiley and Jerry Wayne Wiley, her parents: Pearline Carrington and J.C. Carrington, her sisters: Ora O’Neal and Lottie Butcher, her brothers: John Carrington, Charles Carrington and Michael Carrington.
To cherish her memories, Gloria is survived by her daughter: Jacquelyn Wiley-Goodnight (W. Anthony III); grandchildren: Andrea Crawford and Antavia Crawford; great grandchildren: Aniyah Crawford and Adonis Robinson; sisters: Pressie Stubblefield and Pamela Crooks; brother: Billy Carrington; aunt: Barbara Robinson-Carrington; uncle: Theodore “Squirrel” O’Bryant as well as special friends: George Perry III, Gwen Hayward, Anthony Vincent and Willie Jean Vaughn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
