Eugene Anderson Jr. was born February 7, 1925 to Eugene Sr. and Edna Anderson in New Waverly, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in Huntsville, Texas.
Eugene entered the U.S. Navy Reserve in October, 1946. He did his basic training in Great Lakes, IL. with Company 1602. He also served as a Seaman 1st Class on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii for 2 1/2 years and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Reserve on April 9 1953 from Camp Wallis in Houston, Texas.
Eugene married the love of his life, Katie E. Williams on December 6, 1947.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 72 years, Katie; Jennifer (Andre) whom he raised as his daughter; Eddie and Larry Williams whom he raised as his sons and niece Faye (Anthony); nephew: Charles; niece: Gloria, cousin: Linda; great-nieces: Courtney, Ashley and Sharia; great-great nieces: Bri’nya, Alona, Jade, a host of additional nephews, nieces and cousins all of whom affectionately called him “Doona”.
