Earnest Smith, Jr.

Earnest Smith, Jr. was born on October 30, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, to Earnest Smith Sr. and ReVordia Smith. Our beloved Earnest passed away on December 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

A devoted Houston Texans football fan, Earnest never missed watching a game and proudly wore his team’s colors. He found great peace in fishing, where quiet moments by the water brought him joy, and even more when he actually caught a fish. Earnest had a passion for automobiles, especially slab cars, and could often be found working under the hood or admiring the latest custom rides. His sense of humor was legendary among friends and family, whether in person or online, he relished competing to be the funniest poster on Facebook. Known affectionately for his comedy, Earnest’s wit and charm left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a loving son, brother, father, husband, Pawpaw, and friend. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, loyalty, and the way he made people laugh even during difficult times.

Earnest is survived by his devoted wife Felicia Cooper Smith, his mother, ReVordia Smith, his brother, Lionel (Lesley) Smith, his sisters, LaTisha Smith and Shaunta Herring (Fred), and his children: Orron Smith, Ayramis Randle, Rae’Niqua Smith, Rashon Smith, and Xavier Smith. He also leaves behind bonus children, Kentdray Cooper, Earnest Cooper, Shaqwala Caston (Terrance), and Earneisha Holden (La’Stavius). Earnest was blessed with a total of 15 grandchildren and 2 more on the way. He has a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; Earnest Smith Sr. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire smiles for years to come.
