Brenda Kay (O'Bryant) Tolbert

Brenda Kay Tolbert, affectionately called “Kay Baby” by many, was born on April 12, 1961 to Matthew and Alice O’Bryant, in Huntsville, Texas, where she was raised and attended schools in Huntsville ISD.

Brenda displayed good work ethics during her years as an employee for Huntsville ISD, where she worked for over thirty years as a custodian. She was loved by the staff.

Brenda was a member of Little Bethel Holiness Church, in Huntsville, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Charles McGowen.

Family and friends have fond memories of her being a good cook. Those cooking skills led her to the enjoyment of entertaining friends and family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her, husband: John Tolbert a.k.a “Pic”; son: Royce Johnson, Jr.; great-granddaughter: Senoya Watson; father: Matthew O’Bryant, and brother: Matthew O’Bryant, Jr.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, daughters: Nakeitha McGuire and Stephanie Johnson-Millings (Ollie); mother: Alice O’Bryant; siblings: Lovie Willis, Cynthia O’Bryant, James O’Bryant, Dorothy Brooks, and Regina Sykes; grandchildren: Kaylonda, Xavian, Edward, Jr., Corinthian, Karnell, Lamya, Elijah, Tymarion, Rodney, Jr., Emerald, and Keanu; bonus grandchildren: Alex and Lachastie; great-grandchildren: Shaneedra, Shamya, Shakayla, Christian, Kylani and Kyon; special friend: Ceasar Hall, a host of additional relatives and friends.
