Andrew Denson was born on June 12, 1952, in Evergreen, Texas, the seventh of eight children to Jodie Denson Sr. and Virginia Fields. He was raised in the family's church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized at a young age.
Andrew graduated from Coldspring High School in 1970 and enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 1981. While stationed in South Korea, he met Myong Suk, whom he married in 1979. they moved to Houston, TX where he served 37 years at the United States Postal Service and retired in Cleveland, Texas.
Andrew was known for his infectious smile, his love for singing and dancing, and his ability to make people laugh. He was a people person and never knew a stranger.
Andrew was a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews and was full of love and wisdom, serving as a patriarch to the Denson legacy. Andrew passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Denson, Sr. and Virginia Fields, and siblings Bobby Joe Denson, Jennie Sue Scott, Annie Ray Scott, Jodie Denson Jr., and Josey Buckner.
Left to cherish his memories: his wife, Myong Denson, his daughter, Candice Qualls, his granddaughter: Joliette Qualls, his sisters, Catherine Woodard and Carrie Jeter, his extended daughter Kayla Randolph (Waylon), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
