January 11, 1938, L. D. and Fannie Howard Carter were blessed with the birth of their daughter Alice Louise Carter, in Huntsville, Texas.
Alice received her formal education in the Walker County area. She attended Sam Houston High School. Eventually she would move to California where she continued her education. She received additional degrees that included a Bachelors Degree and a master's degree.
Alice had excellent work ethics that eventually led her to working numerous jobs with the United States government for over 25 years until her retirement. She was a part of the Defense Logistics Agency, where she provided technical support for NASA, the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). She also worked for General Services Administration (GSA). Through her many years of working, she received over 45 accommodations for excellence.
Alice’s Christian experience began at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member under the leadership of Rev. M.C. Battle.
Alice answered the call from the Lord on December 29, 2022, in Huntsville. She leaves in God’s care, her children: Gregory Eugene Russell Sr. and Bridgette Elaine Carter; grandchildren: Jessica Alicia Russell, Gregory Eugene Russell II and Charles Gregory Russell; great-grandchildren: Miles Russell and Shawn Russell; siblings: Clinton Ray Carter, Sharron Carter-Fairley, Marilyn Sue Noel and Betty Carol Lee; special family friend: Thelma Gidden, along with additional family and friends.
