Willie Mae Jones was born on June 5, 1933, to Central and Luella Jones in Huntsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters, Elouise Smith, Juanita Harris, Faye Kirkwood and brothers, William Jones and Lynn Jones, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons.
Willie Mae was a faithful and dedicated member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for several years where she was a member of the senior choir and senior mission, later she was a devoted member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and antique shopping. Her passion for caring for others lead to a lifelong career in health care.
Willie Mae married Walter Bass, and into this union three daughters were born.
She leaves to mourn her children, Saundra L. Rogers, of The Woodlands, Pam J. Wilson (Greg), of Huntsville, Tx., and Yvette Shorten (Jerry), of Huntsville, one brother, Billy R. Jones (Robbie) of Colorado, 5 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
