Roy Chester Ross was born on April 30, 1942 to Albertus Ross and Lorine Smither in Huntsville, Texas. He departed this life on March 20, 2020 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

Roy graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1961. He later met and married Charlene Price on May 31, 1964. They remained married until God called her home in 1999.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife: Charlene Price-Ross; his parents: Albertus Ross and Lorine Smither; sisters: Carrie Carrington and Joyce Washington; brothers: James Johnson and Herman Ross.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughters: Dajuana Ross-Chimney (Wesley), Rhonda Ross-Gregory (Charles) and Kariya "Mo" Ross; brother: Nelson Johnson; sisters: Mary Douglas (Clevester), Mae Rogers, JoAnn Mills (Otis), Linda Hays (Larry) and Jackie Eason; grandchildren: Alexis Taylor-Treadwell (Timothy). NaTorri Taylor-Barnes (Darrin), Cikya Taylor and Aaron Hightower; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends.
