Joy came to the household of Oscar, Sr. and Bonnie Bell Kelly Massey, on May 13, 1945 due to the birth of their first born. They named him Oscar Massey, Jr.

Oscar or Mutt, Jr., as many knew him, received his education from Sam Houston High School.

Oscar began his Christian Walk early in life when he united with Mary's Chapel Baptist Church, in Trinity, Texas, where he served as a faithful member until his health began to fail.

At a young age, Oscar went to work in the woods with his father and brother, hauling pulpwood; then he went on to become a truck driver, hauling logs. Later in life he ended up being known as "the coldest loader" in the woods.

Oscar spent the majority of his life with the first "love of his life", Myra Massey until her death on June 17, 2009. He later married his last "love of his life", Hattie Johnson-Massey, until he received his wings on June 15, 2024.

Oscar was also preceded in death by his parents; sister: Edna Jewel.

Oscar "Mutt, Jr." Massey, leaves beautiful memories with his wife: Hattie Massey; his sons: Horace Davidson (Elaine) and Rory Mark; grandsons: Demontray Davison and Jonathan Corley (Bianca), (whom he raised as his own son since he was born); special granddaughter: Rori Mark; two bonus children that he gained: Stephanie  Jenkins (Chris) and Oma Johnson III,  brother: Frank Massey; sister: Janie Hawkins; nieces: Donna Lewis (Eric), Pavia Clarkson (Walter Sr.), Rhonda Bridges (Marion); his favorite nephew: Milford "Ain't but 1" Hawkins Jr. (Jodie); devoted best friend: Clyde Carrington, a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
