Sis. Katherine English Kilgore was born on August 27, 1922. She was the last of 18 children born to Jack English and Emma Spivey English. She attended school in Walker County as a child. Being raised in a very religious home, she was a true believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 11 years old.

Sis. Kilgore moved to Dallas, Texas in 1961. She was a determined lady, who studied and received a degree as a "Household Technician". She joined East Dallas Church of Christ and taught Tuesday morning Bible class. In later years she returned to Huntsville, Texas and in 1993 she joined Northside Church of Christ, where she worked with both ladies and young girls during Bible classes.

Sis. Katherine, who was known as "Aunt Kat", by everyone that knew her leaves to treasure her memory; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and church friends. She was loved very much by the following extended family members; Barbara Billings, Susan Turner, Garland and Suzanne Marshall, and Stuart and Sharon Vaughn.
