Joshua Llayrron Sykes was born November 17, 1974, in Huntsville, Texas to Billy, Sr. and Melva Powell Sykes. Joshua departed this life on June 28, 2023, in Conroe, Texas.

Joshua was a stand-out athlete at New Waverly High School and his favorite sport was football. He was grateful to the school district for helping to mold his character. Mr. Alvin Davis was his superintendent and Mr. Truman Goodwin was, principal.

Joshua leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Melva Sykes, a special friend: Nikki; daughters: Kailee, Desiree, Cheyanne, and Mikayla; son: Bryden; brothers: Rev. Melvin Sykes, Christopher Sykes, and Jason Sykes, and grandparents: Allen and Bobbie Powell.

Joshua will be re-united in death with his father: Billy Sykes and his dear brother: Billy Sykes, Jr.

A host of family and friends will also affectionately cherish his memories.
