Johnny McBride Jr. was born on January 7, 1947 to Johnny Sr. and Katherine McBride, in New Waverly, Texas. He passed away on August 29, 2019 in Lufkin, Texas.

Although Johnny was born in New Waverly, he was raised in Houston, Texas' Fifth Ward, where he received his formal education at Crawford Elementary and E. O. Smith Junior High School.

Johnny was joined in holy matrimony to Barbara Dixon and moved to California, where lived for many years before retiring to Lufkin, Texas.

Johnny is survived by his devoted wife: Barbara McBride; sons: John, James and Anthony; daughters: Christalline and Danielle; grandchildren: Jonathan, Tyrone, Donya, Angel, Elijah, Laquisha, Keyerra, Latara, Serena, Starlasha, Mycheri, Nicole, Brittany and Amber; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings: Rosie Sallie, Betty Edwards, Lonnie McBride, Donna McBride-Johnson, JoAnn McBride, Danny McBride, Robert McBride, Jackie McBride, Barbara McBride and Angela McBride; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
