Johnny B.
Burnett
May 8, 1941 — Aug 31, 2019
Johnny B. Burnett, affectionately known by family and friends as BoBo, was born to the late Reggie, Sr. and Iona Crawford Burnett on May 8, 1941, in Huntsville, Texas.
Johnny B. graduated from Samuel Houston High School in 1959. Soon after, in 1963, he was drafted into the United States Army, completing training as a combat engineer. Johnny B. faithfully served his country for two years before receiving an honorable discharge from a military career that saw him awarded a Vietnam Service Medal and recognized as both a sharpshooter and expert rifleman.
In civilian life, Johnny B. worked for many years as a master mechanic with Houston METRO and as a faithful member of Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, where he served on the Board of Trustees.
Johnny B. was always smiling and willing to help others. He enjoyed life and loved to dance.
The Lord called Johnny B. to eternal rest on August 31, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reggie, Sr. and Iona Crawford Burnett; his former wife, Lucy Jenkins-Burnett; and his son, Ronald Jenkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter: Jessica Burnett; son: Cedric Lewis (Jay Marie); grandchildren: Bethany Burnett, Jordan Lewis and Mason Jones; three sisters: Marie Smith, Ruthie Kately, and Minnie Turner; one brother, Reggie Burnett, Jr; daughter-in-law: Linda Jenkins and a host of other relatives and friends.
