August 8, 1951 Houston and Anna Smith Sanders were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. They named her Janie. She was born in Melville, La.

Janie received her formal education in Melville, La. and graduated from Melville High School in 1969.

Janie moved to Houston where she met her future husband Willie. They were married and in 1979 moved from Houston to Trinity, Texas.

Janie joined Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was active as a church usher and she sang in the choir.

Family members that preceded her in death include her parents: Houston and Anna Sanders; her husband: Willie M. Evans Sr., and her sisters and brothers. She leaves to cherish memories with her children:  Jackie Tolbert; of Houston, Texas, Tiffany Sanders; of Trinity, Texas and Willie Evans Jr.; of Trinity, Texas; grandchildren: Alonzo Mallett II, Johnnie Tolbert III and Brian Evans; brothers: Houston Sanders (Aurelia); of Melville, La. and Arthur Sanders (Linda); of Beaumont, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Janie will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kind words.
