Irma
Guillory
Oct 17, 1946 — Nov 18, 2022
Irma Jean Tucker Guillory was born into the union of John Elbert and Virginia Wiley Tucker on October 17, 1946, in Monroeville, Alabama. Jean, the fifth of ten children, was educated in the Monroe County schools.
In September 1970, Jean wed Fredrick Guillory of Basile, Louisiana. After a short time living in Florida, the couple settled in Texas in 1974. In the mid-eighties, Jean opened her home up as a childcare provider where she affectionately became known as Mama Jean to many. She provided a safe space where children could just be children. Her patience and love for children was indescribable. What Jean loved most of all, however, was her role as mother and wife. Raising her beautiful children and keeping a warm, welcoming home was what she took the most pride in. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Loved by all who had the good fortune to know her, she will be deeply and genuinely missed.
Jean was preceded in death by a daughter, Evangeline Guillory Ferrell and son, Charles Tucker along with her parents and siblings Annie Laura Bright, Walter Tucker, Johnny Tucker, Lucy Byrd, and Ervin Tucker.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 52 years Fredrick Guillory, and children, Elizabeth (Aaron) Braud of Pearland, TX, Emily Guillory of Huntsville, TX and Aaron Guillory of San Antonio, TX. Five grandchildren: LaQuail Bettis of Hoover, AL, Ambrosa Tucker of Monroeville, AL, Chloe Oliphant of Columbia, MO, Duncan Ferrell, Giselle Braud and two great-grandchildren Ajah Jackson and Kamdyn Dubose. One sister Bonnie Lawson and two brothers: Larry (Wandretta) Tucker, Edward Earl Tucker all of Monroeville, AL. Jean also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who she loved as her own, additional relatives and friends.
