Obituary

Hattie L. (Hightower) Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born in Huntsville, Texas, to the late Esther and Olen Hightower. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, and entered eternal rest.

Hattie was known for her strong work ethic, having dedicated many years to the cleaning industry. Her true joy, however, was found in her love for cooking and baking — a passion she generously shared with all who knew her. Her meals brought warmth and comfort to many, and her kitchen was always a place of welcome and love.

A woman of deep faith, Hattie was a devoted member of Bethel AME Church in Huntsville, Texas, where she regularly worshipped and found strength in her spiritual community.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Esther and Olen Hightower; her sisters, Billy Faye and Unice Milton; and her brother, W.T. Hightower ("Dad").

Hattie leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her sons: Albert Hightower (Sandra), Joel Ray Irving (Donna), Norris Davis Jr. (Jennifer), Michael Davis (Traci), Anthony Davis (Lakeshia), and Rodney Davis (Cheryl); daughters: Janice Reed (Michael), and Rhonda Crooks (Ray). She is also survived by her dear sister, Martha Hightower, and brother, Johnny Hightower.

Her cherished grandchildren include Adrine Davis, Alexandria Proctor, Rodrick Proctor (Riketa), and Caycee Davis, along with a host of more grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy.

Hattie's love and influence also extend to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will forever remember her generous spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
