Georgia M. Nash was born to George and Marie Plattenburgh on April 29, 1933 in Dodge, Texas. She attended Sam Houston High School in Huntsville, Texas. She also attended Conroe College for six years.
Growing up Georgia had a passion for cooking. She took her passion and opened her own soul food restaurant that she ran for many years in the Houston area. Another one of her passions was looking after her son, Alvin, who at a few days old was christened as her son and remained dedicated to her until her passing.
Georgia was married to Archie Nash. Along with her husband they moved to Coldspring, Texas. During that time they united with St. Paul / Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas, where her husband became pastor and she served as their First Lady, Sunday School Superintendent, secretary and treasurer of the church. She also served as President of the Ministers Wives.
Georgia's hobbies included cooking, singing, teaching the word of God, attending; Bible Study, Sunday School, as well as church services. She remained a faithful soldier for the Lord until her health began to decline.
Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter: Sharon C. Cauley (Mark); of Lufkin, Texas and son: Alvin (Muri); of Houston, Texas; god-sister: Pam Walker; of Omaha, Texas, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
