Billy Roy Murray was born to Luke and Annie Bell Murray on January 1, 1951. He went to school In Huntsville, TX, and graduated in 1949.

He met and married his wife Doris Murray, which led this union to three beautiful children Sundra, Calvin, and Ashley. Billy leaves to cherish his wife, Doris Murray, two daughters: Sundra M. Harris (Houston, TX) and Ashley N. Murray (Huntsville, TX); two grandkids: Brandon E. Harris and Marcus D. Harris of Houston, TX; brother: Larry Murray (Andrew, Texas). In addition, he leaves behind his childhood friends: Edgar Franklin, Delios Johnson, and Gene Mitchell; special friends: Darrell Gardner, Mickey Anderson, classmate and friend, Mrs. Shirley Tyson, who is a wonderful cook. Lastly, he leaves behind Mr. and Mrs. Cherry, Mr. and Mrs. Elaine Smith, his church family, other relatives and family, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, six nieces, and six nephews.

For many years, Billy attended Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he fulfilled many roles such as being on the Deacon Board, Board of Trustees, an usher, singing with the Male Chorus, and also driving the church van.

Billy is preceded in death by his son: Calvin Ray Murray, along with his parents, Luke and Annie Bell Murray.
