Janice Louise Mack Jefferson was born on June 21, 1957 to Champ and Bobbie Lue McGowan, in Huntsville, Texas.
She attended public school in HISD. In later years Janice would become employed as a bus driver for HISD.
Janice was baptized at an early age. She was member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Unity of Faith Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Obie Rolling, Jr.
Janice's hobbies included styling hair, nails, fishing and spending quality time with the family. She'll always be remembered as the life of the party.
Janice was preceded in death by her father: Champ McGowan; sisters: Marilyn Carol McGowan, Sandra McGowan and Brenda McGowan-Thomas. She is survived by her husband: Gregory Jefferson; mother: Bobbie McGowan; daughters: LaShorne Mack and Tomiqua Mack; son: Rodrick McGowan; sister: Barbara Bay; brothers: Richard McGowan, Willie McGowan and Edward McGowan Sr.; grandchildren: Ashanti Mack, Rachiel Mack, Sha'Quan Mack, Ja'Quan Mack, Na'Quan Mack, Ke'Ontra Mack and La'Quan Mack; of Huntsville, Texas; special grandchild: Dylan Pringle; best friend Shane Pringle; seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
