G I O'Bryant

On September 23, 1946, G I O'Bryant was born to Green Sr, and Ella O'Bryant, in Huntsville, Texas, where he grew up and attended school. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and five brothers.

G I was introduced to Christ in the early 1980’s and brought the gospel to his family. He was baptized in Jesus’ name. He received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Rev. Ronnie Riles at First Community Bible Way Apostolic Church, in Huntsville, Texas; where he was ordained as a Deacon. He later moved his membership to Eastside Church of God in Christ under the leadership of  Bishop Lonnie O. Mills; in Huntsville, Texas.

G I worked for over 40 years for Walker & Byrd until his health began to decline. He was a dedicated family man who not only loved,  cherished and feared God.

G I enjoyed spending quality time with his wife with his grandchildren, doing chores around the house, playing his guitar and praising God.

G I met and eventually married the former Betty McGowan. They were joined in holy matrimony for 53 years.

Friday, August 9, 2019 heaven gained another angel that God called home to rest. G I leaves to cherish memories; his wife: Betty O’Bryant; children; sons: Arthur McGowan (Donna); of Cameron, Texas and Ronnie O’Bryant Sr. (Alisha); of Rockdale, Texas; daughters: LaDeanna Bridges (Torace) and Annie O’Bryant; both of Huntsville, Texas; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; brother: L. C. O’Bryant; sisters: Lu Ella McGowan (Carl) and Annie Mae Lee (Robert); both of Huntsville, Texas; devoted friends: Sterling Crawford, Sr., Otis Hightower, Jr. and John Stubblefield, Jr.; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
