Jasmine Marie LeVert was born on July 31, 1991, in Houston, TX to parents Kristiana Valsin and Robert Levert, Jr. She received her education in the Houston Independent School District. She would eventually use the writing skills she learned to compose and publish a book of poetry that painted a vivid picture of her sickle cell journey. Jasmine was a champion who repeatedly overcame health struggles. She drew strength from her relationship with God and His word. She ALWAYS had to have three important items with her during her hospitalizations; her purse, robe and Bible. Her faith was strong and she never gave up. Her hard fight earned her the nicknames “The Comeback Kid” and "Rocky Balboa”.
Jasmine had a great sense of humor that she shared with her family. Sometimes she and her mom would laugh so hard during their conversations. She loved her pets, Chris Rock and Cuddles and her Cokes. She was a source of encouragement to many people and will be remembered for her inspirational talks and cooking videos that she shared on social media. To know Jasmine was to love her.
Jasmine lived most of her life in Houston near her family, but eventually fell in love with Donny Lamp and relocated to Clear Lake, TX and Mobile, Alabama, where she passed away with her loving parents at her side. God called her home and set her free from pain and suffering on March 25, 2024, at 9:20 am.
Jasmine was a humble, loving, kind and compassionate daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Addie L. Simpson and John Valsin, and her aunt, Luciana Sauls Handy. She leaves behind to morn her passing: her parents, Kristiana Valsin, Robert LeVert, Jr., paternal grandparents, Celestine Dunn and Robert LeVert, Sr.; siblings, Gayle Benoit, Richard Valsin, (Jennifer), Addison Lewis, Andrea Busby, Jamaal Davis, and Delaynie Coffee; aunts, Tammy Butler, Tina LeVert and Katrina LeVert; niece and nephew, Zion Valsin and Zaria Valsin, her love, Donnie Lamp and his mother, Lynn Lamp, special teacher/friend, Mrs. Potter.
